Cathode Metal Coating Bath or KTL e-coating has been the essential painting process of OEM in automotive industry. Teknorot is the first aftermarket manufacturer in Turkey to apply this process in house.  This experience and our chemical know-how leads to meeting and even exceeding OEM (minimum 720 hours) test results according to EN 50021 salt spray test. KTL e-coating technology  provides the following benefts compared to electrostatic spray paint.

  • CATAPHORESIS PAINT COATING
  • Cataphoresis line process consists of four main groups.
  • Surface cleaning group
  • Suface preparing group
  • Coating group
  • Flash-off and oven group
  • 1-Surface Cleaning Group
  • In order to link the painting with iron, surface cleaning must be done in extreme qualitative way. This group consisting of oil-removal and rinse tanks where negative structures such as oil film, welding powders,dust on the piece are removed.
  • 2-Surface preparing group
  • This group exists in cataphoresis coating due to lodge the ZnPO4 crystals to surface and to provide linkage of painting and iron. Activaition tanks are consist of ZNPO4 tanks and DI water-swill tanks.
  • 3- Coating group
  • This group that coming after on metal surface has application of water-based painting structure. It consist of painting tanks and UF tanks.
  • 4-Flash-off and oven group
  • The liquid build-up in the paint is made possible by the removal of the paint from the paint as a gas and the solidification of the paint after curing is provided by this group.
  • Cataphoresis paint is water-based paint.
  • This coating is a kind of electro-chemical coating that applied wet form to wet surface.
  • This application has high performance on corrosion and impacts comparing to electro-static dust and electro-static wet paint coatings.
  • Cataphoresis lines consist of mostly closed circuits tanks. It is feeding itself and an integrated working auxiliary plant that keeps chemical waste material under continuous control. That’s why chemical waste ratio is lower than any other applications. Within low amount of chemical waste and low operational cost, This system makes it much more convenient and attractive to environmental conditions.
  • There are no paint that loses during the painting and causes a negative working environment that are flying in the air.
  • Chemical steams are got through in SCRUBBER application. Chemical material is captured in that steam. It is disposed of by recycling it back to the treatment plant. Waste gas is released to the atmosphere which was cleaned according to environmental factors in Teknorot A.Ş cataphoresis line.
  • Heat recycling is performed from the oven exhaust hood. By doing that, negative affect to the environmental factors is prevented in Teknorot A.Ş cataphoresis line.
  • Teknorot A.Ş cataphoresis line is the only system amoung the others that has no paint sludge waste and self-cleaning feature.
  • Hanging tools are used in cataphoresis line, have no additional cleaning wastes because this tools are developed to provide to not stick the painting on themselves. This feature makes that system different comparing with the other coating systems.
  • Teknorot A.ş cataphoresis line has no customer claims up to the present by recording bath parametrical values and tracking continously. Cross cut and impact test applications are performed on the products in sense of quality tests.
  • 18µ – 20µ painting thickness values and 720-1000 hours salt test values for corrosion are provided during this application.
  • These test performances are enclosed the OEM values with the superior qualification.
